One day, I was hiking through a forest when I heard a twig breaking behind me. I looked back, but didn’t see anything. When I turned around again, I heard another twig snap—but still, nothing was there. I quickly ran home.
The next day, I went to work as a teacher. When I arrived at my classroom, I saw my students reading books, which made me happy—until I noticed one kid eating a cookie. I told him to put it away. He ignored me and kept eating.
I went to tap him on the shoulder, in case he hadn’t heard me, but my hand phased right through him. I stared at him in horror. Suddenly, he disappeared.
During class, another kid raised his hand and asked, “Where am I?”
Confused, I said, “What are you talking about? You’re in class.”
I looked into his eyes. They were pitch black.
I ran out of the classroom and got into my car. While driving home, I saw an old man standing still and a kid playing with dolls. Their eyes were pitch black too. I was terrified.
As soon as I got home, I built a brick wall around my house. I went inside and finally felt safe—until I heard glass breaking.
That was it for me. I started screaming.
Then I suddenly sat up.
I was in bed.
It was all a dream.
